This not only equipped me with the skills to create visually compelling narratives but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for the timeless artistry that lies within every frame.
In 2019, as graduation was coming up and finishing my graphic design internship, I decided that wedding photography was going to be my career. I knew in my heart that my purpose was to capture the love and connection between two humans. I truly strive to tell the story of love and all the things that surround love.
Little did I know, that decision would lead me to places I had only dreamed of. What started as a passion for storytelling through photography soon became a journey beyond borders.
My journey as a photographer began very young. It was during my high school days that my hobby took a more serious turn. I started photographing seniors and contributing to our yearbook class. Initially, I had no intention of pursuing photography as a career. I simply enjoyed the art of it and I knew I was pretty good at it!
Around the fall of 2014, my mom suggested going to Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) for graphic design and I started playing with that idea at Kent Career Technical Center attending graphic design classes to prepare for KCAD. At the time, it felt unrealistic to even be a photographer because society pushes you to get “a real 9-5 job”. But I loved the intersection of graphic design and photography and how they complement each other.
With graphic design as my main focus, I attended KCAD and took film photography classes as extra circulars. Unknowingly, this helped me grasp the technical side of photography in depth and I fell even more in love with it.
For me, wedding photography isn’t just about capturing moments, it’s about telling your story in a way that truly reflects who you are. I want to go beyond just taking beautiful photos and dive into what makes your connection special. That’s why I focus on getting to know my couples, creating a space where you feel comfortable to just be yourselves. The little quirks, the way you look at each other, the inside jokes, those are the moments that matter. My goal is to capture you as you are, both individually and together, so your photos feel like you. That’s the heart of my approach, and it’s what makes every love story I document so unique.
No two love stories are alike, and therefore, no two weddings should be either. Every couple has their own story, their own energy, and their own way of celebrating, and that’s what makes each wedding so special.
I believe your photography should feel just as unique as your love, authentic, personal, and full of the little moments that make your day yours. My goal is to capture the essence of your connection in a way that’s true to you, so when you look back at your photos, they don’t just remind you of what your wedding looked like, but what it felt like.
